Our History
In 1947, a group of shooters from east Stockton enjoyed shooting trap on the north end of Lucky ranch along Mosher Slough. In 1948, the group, led by Louis Cadamartori and Roy DeVencenzi moved to Jack Tone Road, north of the Calaveras River and they became known as members of the Calaveras Blue Rock Gun Club.
Later, the group rented two acres of the present thirty-five acre site from Fred Tozi and Emil Delucchi with the intention of purchasing the entire parcel when able to do so. A small club house was built and the shooting club's name was changed to the Waterloo Gun Club. Later, Bocce players became interested in sharing the facilities and the two groups united.
On March 23, 1953, the club became incorporated with the new name, Stockton Waterloo Gun and Bocci Club and shares were sold at $25.00 per share to generate revenue to make improvements and construct four indoor bocce courts.
